UniCredit Bank Is Inviting to Visit Massimo Sestini’s Exhibition
On 12 March, Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow (MAMM), Russia’s largest museum of modern art, inaugurated Massimo Sestini’s Exhibition “Italy — Twilight Skylines from Police helicopters” supported by UniCredit Bank. This is an international-scale project inspired by the desire to show Italy from a perspective unfamiliar to a wide audience. The pictures will enable the visitors to open all the splendour of the country for themselves starting from large cities and centres of culture and art and ending with the views of the seashore and the Alps.
Massimo Sestini succeeded in capturing the landscapes of Italy an hour after sunset and an hour before sunrise from police helicopters as part of his photo report commissioned by the State Police of Italy.
On the heels of the successful exhibition at the Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome, the show will now move to some of the principle cities throughout the world. In Russia, the event will be supported by the Embassy of Italy in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and State Police of Italy under the auspices of the Ministry of the Interior of Italy. Massimo Sestini’s exhibition will be supervised by ONCE (National Organisation of Congresses and Events) supported by the Italian Cultural Institute. AO UniCredit Bank is sponsoring the exhibition.
“This is a special project of the author famous for his work in photojournalism that pays a tribute to the beauty of Italy. Pictures of familiar landscapes taken from a helicopter look new and spectacular, says Mikhail Alekseev, CEO of UniCredit Bank. We have common roots with Mr. Sestini. Italy is the motherland of both Massimo Sestini and UniCredit Group — UniCredit Bank’s parent group. UniCredit Tower, headquarter of the Group, is the centrepiece of Milan shaping the silhouette of the city. This year is special for our Bank: we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of our operation in the Russian market, in particular, by supporting this exhibition”.
Massimo Sestini is among the best-known, most multifaceted, daring, and creative photo reporters in Italy. His pictures capture the time in a very precise and spectacular manner. Sestini has a gift to show up wherever newsmakers are about to take place and use any means to get to the scene and make his famous shots. He took the famous picture depicting the boat with migrants crossing the Mediterranean that earned the World Press Photo Award for him in 2015.
The exhibition will be held from 13 to 24 March 2019 in Multimedia Art Museum located at: 16, Ostrozhenka Street. See more details at the Museum’s website.
